Valuing the wine heritage and producing wines that follow the traditions linked to the territory while respecting the environment is our philosophy.
The company produces around 20,000 bottles resulting from the processing of 4 native vines: Pallagrello Bianco, Pallagrello Nero, Casavecchia and Coda di Pecora. “Il Verro” the name of the winery stands for “The Boar” because the winery is located in a boar-hunting area. We have rediscovered and enhanced the ancient Coda di Pecora grape variety, cultivated in the past in the area of choice between Monte Maggiore and Roccamonfina, of which we are the only producers who market pure wines from this very rare grape variety.
Our company has also obtained the certificates of organic agricultural cultivation and production of organic wines, to protect and guarantee for the consumer the high quality and authenticity of our wines. (show more)
The winery is located in the north of Campania, Caserta area, at the foot of Monte Maggiore mountein, which dominates on one side the basin rich in mineral waters of Riardo (famous for the Ferrarrelle source) and on the other the Volturno valley. Since the time of the Borboni royal family was a hunting area for wild boar of the barony of Formicola, The winery “Il Verro” was born from the name that the locals gave to the male wild boar (il verro).
